New wheels!

November 28, 2003 by Aaron

Ok, so my car died… boo hoo, sometimes life sucks, then you get over it.  I went home for thanksgiving, had a blast hanging out with the fam, ate too much turkey (who didn’t?), and then today (friday) went car shopping with my dad.  We went perusing around the dealers in St. Cloud, and saw a few cars we liked.  There was a 5 speed prism, a couple of saturns, a cavalier.  But the majority were out of our price range.  I wanted to keep the payments below $200/mo so that meant $5000 or less for my car.  Well, we got to Tenvoorde Ford, where I got the Sunbird a year and a half ago (may it R.I.P.), and we found this little 97 Mercury Tracer.

Its a 4 door, Automatic 4-cylinder that has cruise, AC and keyless entry.  Its more compact than my Sunbird was, but I drove a metro in high school, and so I’m used to that.  The seats arent the most comfortable, and its this ugly puce green.  But it was the perfect price.  $3790, and it has Cruise Control! (which I badly need if I don’t want to get a 6th speeding ticket)

So, I got a new pair of wheels.  My next week will be spent trying to figure out how to mount my Pioneer CD deck in it so I can listen to CD’s.  If you ask nicely, I might give you a ride :)

Yay for snowboards!

November 24, 2003 by Aaron

YAY!!! Its snowing!  After church today, a friend and I went snowboarding.  We had a blast! Even though we only were out for an hour.  The wind was really hard, and cold.

Some news on my car situation:  I might be getting an 02 Ford Focus… But that all depends on if the financing comes through.  If it doesn’t then I’ll be driving my parents truck for a while.  But I really want to get my own car, and be less dependant on my parents.  But at the same time, I don’t have much money…

Yeah, so Thursday is Turkey Day! Yay!  I love mashed potatoes… I’ll probably eat a pot of them at home this Thurs… Since Thanksgiving is at our place this year.

Well, of for now…

Lazy Days….

November 20, 2003 by Aaron

So yeah, I’ve been kind of lazy recently.  I havent gotten much done for my business.  I have a stack of stuff that needs to get worked on. I have a ton of open projects I need to finish.  I finally got 2 of the group projects I had for school done.  Whew!  I guess I’m just getting the mid-semester-slumps…

Maybe after thanksgiving I’ll be more into things.  I really need to get the ensim accounts moved, so I can drop that server.  I have 10 days or less to drop the server before they bill me $109 again.  Crap, that reminds me, I also need to drop the Rackshack server.  ARGH!!! to much to do, not enough motivation to do it!

I really need to get internet access working correctly at the office.  This working at home is really getting distracting.  Maybe thats the reason.  Oh well.  This weekend will be fun at least :)

Mondays Mondays Mondays……

November 10, 2003 by Aaron

I hate Mondays… I really do!  Today I spent all day (9am-4:30pm) working for PCRepair on campus, and we got to move our entire shop, all the way to the other side of campus.  My feet havent hurt this much since I worked for Littfin the summer after I graduated High School.  Oh well…

Now I’m down at the office, working on Business as Usual… trying to get the last of the Ensim Accounts moved over tonight.  I also need to cancel the server at RackShack… I’m not using it, so why should I continue to pay $109/mo?

Things don’t always go as planned…

November 4, 2003 by Aaron

So, as I was coming back up to Duluth from home this weekend, my car engine blew up just north of Barnum (about 25 miles south of Duluth).  So I had to fork over $125 to get it towed to DJ Auto in Superior where I normally have work done on my car.  It sounds like the engine seized, which could be something like $2000 to get a new engine.  Considering that my parents bought the car for $1500 in May of 2002, I’m looking into getting a whole new car, and saying goodbye to this one.

So yeah, that sucks, but oh well.  Some people would get all bent out of shape about something like this, but I’m like “Meh, its just a car.  Material posessions are meaningless.  God will provide.”

This car thing is kinda like a double whammy, since the reason I went home was because I found out my Grandma has skin cancer.  She goes in for surgery tomorrow (Wednesday 11/5/03).  So I’m praying about that.

So yeah… I’m hangin in there.  Business is coming along good. :)
